Y-Axis Manual Traction

Y-Strap or Towel pull - $40.00 per service (this is an add-on service to a regular adjustment visit)

Our spines are constantly being compressed or "pressed down" by such things as gravity, forward leaning posture, sleep postures that twist the neck and hips, and other daily physical movements. In order to take the pressure off the vertebrae of the spinal column, your Chiropractor utilizes the Y-Strap, or towel, to provide manual traction.

Y-Strap: This simple non-mechanical device involves the patient lying on their back face up, and your Chiropractor places a strap under the base of the head and secures it in place with a chin strap. Once in place, the Chiropractor does several slow pulls on the handle, followed by the final quick pull, which may result in hearing and feeling the spine decompress throughout, and may result in a feeling of release of pressue on the vertebrae segments of the spinal column. It is possible to hear and feel the release of pressure occur from the neck all the way down to the low back, and a feeling of relief in those areas.

The goal of this Y-Axis Manual Traction is to reduce existing pain/stiffness, and increase range of motion (ease of movement). We encourage you to check out our YouTube videos of Dr. Caponio using the Y-strap or Towel Pull on patients so you can see what it is like prior to your visit, and to see if this treatment may be something you are interested in discussing!
